A Cape Coast Circuit Court has sentenced 26-year-old Eric Amoah to 16 years in prison with hard labour for defiling a 7-year-old boy in Mankessim.
The incident occurred in broad daylight in the Nananom area of the Mfantseman Municipality.
Amoah was arrested on November 3, 2025, after the victim’s father helped police trace him.
He pleaded guilty to the charge, prompting Her Honour Nana Aba Quaiba Nunoo to deliver the sentence immediately.
The victim is receiving treatment at the Saltpond Municipal Hospital.
The sentence aligns with Ghana’s laws on defilement, which carry a penalty of 7 to 25 years imprisonment.
