The police in Garu are on a manhunt for a civilian who attacked a police officer.
The incident occurred on 6th October 2025, when the officer and Community Protection Assistants (CPAs) were conducting stop-and-search operations along the Garu–Nakpanduri road.
The team intercepted a tricycle loaded with sacks of groundnuts and passengers sitting on top.
However, when the officer instructed the rider to stop and park properly for inspection, he became aggressive and attacked the officer.
The suspect then fled the scene on his tricycle.
Efforts are underway to arrest the tricycle rider and ensure he faces the full rigours of the law.
