            Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu

The Ministry of Education is set to establish a technical team in the coming days to conduct a comprehensive review of the Computerized School Placement System (CSSPS), according to Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu.

The initiative, he explained, is intended to enhance transparency, efficiency, and fairness in the placement of students into second-cycle institutions across the country.

“We are putting together a team of experts to assess the current placement system and recommend improvements,” Hon. Iddrisu said. “This review will ensure that the CSSPS remains a tool that serves the best interests of all Ghanaian children.”

The Minister made the announcement during a surprise working visit to Presbyterian Senior High School in Accra, where he engaged directly with students, teachers, and school administrators.

“Interacting with students and staff has given me firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities within our schools,” he noted. “We are committed to addressing issues related to infrastructure, teaching and learning resources, and school management.”

Hon. Iddrisu praised the dedication of the teaching staff and reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to improve the educational experience for both students and educators.

“The commitment of our teachers is commendable. As a Ministry, we will continue investing in systems that promote equitable access to quality education,” he said.

The Minister added that the review process would involve key stakeholders, including education managers, parent and student representatives, to ensure inclusivity in decision-making.

“We want a placement system that is not only technically sound but also widely trusted by the public,” he stressed.
