Frank Yeboah, MP for Atwima Nwabiagya North, has criticized the government’s GHS100 million allocation for completing ten Agenda 111 hospitals, calling it inadequate.
Speaking during the 2026 budget debate, Yeboah explained that each hospital costs around GHS1.926 billion, making the total GHS19.26 billion.
At the current funding level, he warned, the projects could take nearly 200 years to finish.
He questioned why the government is not prioritizing healthcare, cautioning that without significant investment, many communities may remain without essential hospitals.
The Agenda 111 initiative, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, aimed to build hospitals in underserved districts, but most facilities remain unfinished.
The government insists it is committed to completing the projects, citing the 2026 budget as evidence of ongoing efforts.
