The bursar of Ghanata Senior High School (SHS), Lamisi Sarah, has been arrested for the alleged diversion of food supplies intended for students.

The arrest was confirmed by the Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo.

According to the Minister, her office received credible reports in recent weeks indicating that the bursar had been diverting portions of food provisions meant to support student welfare and nutrition.

She described the situation as disturbing, stating that the alleged act constitutes a serious breach of trust and public duty, particularly as the supplies are essential for ensuring the proper nourishment of students.
Upon receiving the complaints, the Minister alerted the constituency’s National Security apparatus to conduct a discreet investigation.

She explained that while she was in the constituency on Tuesday, February 17, the alleged diversion was confirmed, leading to the apprehension of Lamisi Sarah.

“I directed the officers to hand her over to the Police so that due process can take its full course under the law,” Minister Ocloo added, noting that investigations into the matter are expected to continue.

The Minister emphasized that such incidents undermine public confidence in state institutions and directly affect the well-being of students. She stressed that accountability would be upheld and that anyone found culpable would face the full rigours of the law.

Reaffirming her commitment to protecting student welfare and safeguarding the integrity of public institutions in the region, she vowed to ensure that such breaches of trust are dealt with decisively.
