The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nkoranza North District in Bono East Region, Hon. Effah Patrick, together with the Member of Parliament for the Nkoranza North, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, has presented working tools and industrial machines to beneficiaries of the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) at a ceremony held on Wednesday, 1st April, 2026 at the District Assembly in Busunya, the district capital.
The presentation formed part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote skills development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable employment among the youth across the country.
Describing the initiative, Hon. Effah Patrick stated that it’s a strategic intervention aimed at empowering young people with practical skills and the necessary start-up tools to establish their own businesses.
He emphasized that the provision of working equipment goes beyond material support, noting that it represents an investment in human capital and the economic transformation of the district.
“Today’s event is not merely a distribution exercise. It is a deliberate and forward-looking investment in the future of our young people and the economic prosperity of Nkoranza North,” he expressed.
Hon. Effah Patrick noted that the distributed items form part of the Ghana Apprenticeship Program Department (GAPD), and the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) benefiting 142 youths in the Nkoranza North District.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the tools responsibly and productively, stressing that discipline, innovation, and commitment to quality service delivery would be critical to their success.
Speaking with Fabea FM’s Apiah-Kubi, Hon. Effah Patrick advised; “The tools you receive today are seeds of opportunity. Guard them well, utilize them efficiently, and let them serve as the foundation for thriving enterprises that will create jobs and inspire others”.
Hon. Effah Patrick further commended His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s vision for the youth in the country, especially in Nkoranza North.
The Member of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, in addition to the working kits, also distributed 1,000 street lights to all assembly members within the constituency.
The MP stated that the distribution aimed to enhance visibility, strengthen security, and support local development by deterring crime and improving road safety.
By empowering assembly members with street lights, the lawmaker has reinforced collaboration to abate some youths engaging in drug usage in the constituency.
The beneficiaries, drawn from various vocational fields including tailoring, welding, carpentry, hairdressing, and auto mechanics, expressed gratitude to the government and the District Assembly, especially the DCE and the MP for the opportunities to make judicious use of the equipment to improve their livelihoods.
The ceremony concluded with the symbolic presentation of industrial machines and working tools to the beneficiaries, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the young entrepreneurs in the Nkoranza North district.
