The Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region has arrested a young man, identified as Ebenezer Frimpong, after he allegedly jumped into a Police armoured vehicle at Nkawie Market and drove it away.

According to reports, the police officer who was driving the vehicle briefly stepped out to buy medication, while the engine was running.

The suspect seized the moment, entered the vehicle, and drove off, only to be swiftly chased and apprehended by a Police patrol team.

He was later arrested by a SWAT team at Mim near Abuakwa, Kumasi, and the vehicle has since been retrieved and secured.

The suspect is currently in Police custody assisting with investigations.
