Gospel musician Efe Grace has openly shared why she first pursued a career in secular music before committing herself entirely to the gospel ministry.
In an interview on BrytXtra, the singer acknowledged that money was a factor in her early choice to focus on secular music.
“I was thinking about the money. I wanted to do something to make a living, and I thought there was more money in secular music than gospel,” she confessed.
Efe Grace clarified that although secular music first appeared to be more profitable, her ultimate calling into gospel music became evident over time.
She made it clear that her decision was not solely motivated by passion but rather by a supernatural calling to use her talent to use gospel music to positively touch people’s lives.
Her disclosure has spurred discussions about the financial hardships that many gospel musicians have in contrast to the ostensibly more lucrative secular music business.
