Vice President of IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, is of the view that the strongest candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the 2028 election is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He supports his position by citing that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia garnered 41% of the votes cast in the 2024 election, despite deep anger and disaffection from all sides, including NPP members who did not vote.
His Facebook post making this position known read, “It’s actually interesting to realize that despite the deep anger and disaffection from all sides, including NPP members not voting, DMB got 41%. I have no doubt he will be the strongest candidate in the next election.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has filed his nomination to contest for the flagbearership in the New Patriotic Party.
He believes that he is the most prepared candidate to lead the political party for the next election.
