The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has assured the people of Ghana that they will see the government’s commitment to retrieving all loot when the legal year begins.
According to him, most of the charges in the cases being investigated have been drafted and will be filed at the beginning of the legal year.
The president made this known when he addressed the press on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Paramount among the cases is the National Service Authority Scandal.
He said, “For the National Service Authority case, due to the expansive nature, charges have been drafted and will be filed as soon as the legal year begins against the following persons: the Republic vs. Osei Assibey, Eric Nyarko, and Gifty Oware.”
On whether the government is going to accept plea bargaining in the fight against corruption, the president indicated that although there are laws, the government may reject some plea bargaining deals depending on the magnitude of the loot.
