Police in Tema have intercepted a truck loaded with 315 compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp hidden in vehicle tyres, leading to the arrest of four men.

The suspects, 44-year-old Nura Sali, 49-year-old Pius Chukwuma, 18-year-old Mustapha Umar, and 23-year-old Abdulai Amayau, were picked up at the Tema Industrial Area during an operation by officers from the Community 1 District Police.

The truck, registered GN 7291-16, was impounded after officers discovered the drugs concealed inside its tyres.

According to police, the four were arraigned before the Ashaiman Circuit Court on Thursday, September 11, 2025, where they were remanded into custody.

They are expected to reappear on September 30, 2025, while investigations continue.
