Akufo-Addo gov’t allowed corruption to flourish — Kwakye Ofosu

Felix Kwakye Ofosu has accused the former Nana Akufo-Addo administration of overseeing what he calls “unprecedented levels of corruption.”

He said media investigations frequently exposed misconduct, yet very little was done to punish offenders.

“There were too many scandals, you couldn’t even finish discussing one before another emerged,” he argued on Metro TV monitored by Lovinghananews.com, describing a period where wrongdoing became “palpable.”

He claims that voters lost trust and demanded accountability, a demand which he believes John Mahama’s new administration has taken seriously by accelerating corruption investigations based on ORAL submissions.

To illustrate the gravity of public pressure, Kwakye Ofosu referenced historical moments where Ghanaians insisted on severe anti-corruption measures.

He reminded audiences that corruption has shaped multiple elections, including 2000, 2016, 2020 and 2024.

He accused critics of attempting to “distract the nation” from progress, insisting that the government is committed to making corruption “a high-risk activity” in Ghana.
