General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has kicked off his widely publicized “Thank You” tour in the Eastern Region, acknowledging the massive endorsement that brought the party back to power in the 2024 elections.
In a video sighted during the tour, the veteran NDC chairman openly shared some of the strategies he deployed to secure the historic victory over the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“I asked the party to leave the parliamentary campaign exclusively for me,” Asiedu Nketia revealed. “In constituencies where the NDC had performed poorly in the past, I organized my team to storm those areas and engage the electorate one-on-one. The results that came evidently underscored my input.”
He also recalled how he assured voters ahead of the elections that the NDC would return to celebrate with them if given victory.
“Before the elections, I told the people if they gave us victory, we would come back and hold a victory party. However, we could not fulfill that promise because the NPP contested some of the constituency results, prompting legal redress,” he explained.
Despite the delay, Asiedu Nketia emphasized that it was only right to come back and express gratitude to the people.
“Notwithstanding the challenges, I found it prudent to return to thank them for their overwhelming endorsement. I pledge that we will never neglect them,” he assured.
The tour, which runs from September 17 to 19, 2025, covers 16 constituencies across the Eastern Region. Party officials say it is a continuation of the appreciation process, meant to honor executives, cadres, and grassroots organizers who worked tirelessly for the NDC’s landmark 2024 victory.
