General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has highlighted the remarkable growth and global impact of the Assemblies of God Worldwide.
Speaking at the launch of the 2026 World Assemblies of God Congress on Friday, November 14, he noted that the church continues to expand its presence and influence across continents.
According to him, the Assemblies of God has become a leading force in global evangelism and community development, with its membership and missionary activities experiencing significant growth in recent years.
“I am glad to mention that the World Assemblies of God is the fastest growing denomination in the world and currently the largest protestant church globally. Our membership now stands at 89.9 million.
“With 451,000 local churches and in Africa we number 20 million with 98,000 local assemblies. Currently, we have close to 8000 missionaries who work in over 190 countries and the World Fellowship has invested close to $328 million in missions and developing communities and societies,” he stated.
