At the 80th United Nations General Assembly: Ghana’s Voice, Ghana’s Vision

It is an honour to be part of the delegation led by President John Dramani Mahama to the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

This global gathering of leaders is not only about speeches in the hallowed halls of the Assembly, it is about democracy, leadership, ideas, policies, and partnerships that shape the future of nations. The side events have been equally powerful. As Champion of Financial Institutions and Reparations, President Mahama has hosted highly successful sessions on the sidelines of  UNGA80, the most notable being the launch of the  AccraReset—a bold initiative to secure funding for stronger healthcare access under the Mahama Cares Fund.

A historic visit to NASDAQ ahead of the Ghana–US Business Summit was another key highlight, where President Mahama reiterated his call to business leaders: Ghana is open for business.

From showcasing the promise of a brighter future to advancing the Big Push for infrastructure, education, green energy, and industrialisation, Ghana is positioning itself as a model of good governance and visionary leadership.

President Mahama’s presence underscores his belief in multilateralism and his commitment to ensuring Ghana plays its rightful role in shaping global solutions.

Whether addressing the existential threat of climate change, advancing gender equality, or driving digital transformation, his administration’s policies are deeply aligned with the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Ghana is not at the UN merely to listen; we are here to contribute, to share lessons, and to forge partnerships that empower our citizens and generations to come.

As we engage in high-level meetings and dialogues with global leaders, one truth stands clear: Ghana’s story under President Mahama is one of hope, resilience, and opportunity.
