Former NPP stalwart Hopeson Adorye has alleged that Alan Kyerematen’s independent campaign in the 2024 election was compromised because over 90 per cent of their polling agents were denied accreditation. The United Party’s Director of Field Operations said many of their representatives were turned away from polling stations despite following official procedures. “We wrote letters and even had Alan sign them, but most of our agents were still rejected,” he claimed on Metro TV’s Good Afternoon Ghana, monitored by Lovinghananews.com. Adorye suggested that this contributed to what he described as widespread rigging during the 2024 election. He said such experiences…
Market women at the Bolgatanga Old Market have called on authorities to ensure they have access to locked stores and sheds that were allocated to people many years ago but have remained unused. The traders have appealed to the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly to immediately re-allocate the facilities for economic boost. Since the last quarter of 2008 till date, the Bolgatanga Old Market stores and sheds were allocated to traders after the rehabilitation of the market. Before the rehabilitation of the old market, the traders were relocated to the current new market and close to 85% of the traders refused to…
Manchester United finally broke their long-standing Anfield curse with a dramatic 2-1 win over arch-rivals Liverpool, marking their first victory at the historic ground since 2016. In a thrilling Premier League clash on Sunday evening, goals from new signing Bryan Mbeumo and captain Harry Maguire ensured the Red Devils walked away with all three points, despite a late scare from the hosts. The game started with a bang, as United stunned the Anfield crowd by taking the lead just two minutes in. Bryan Mbeumo, a summer acquisition from Brentford, latched onto a clever through ball and slotted past Alisson with…

Sanctioned by the Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson and supported by the National Security’s Brigadier General Musah Whajah (Rtd), the Second Infantry Battalion, and the Western Naval Command, the operation led to the seizure of seven excavators, eighteen water pumping machines and a pump-action gun. The team…
Hopeson Adorye believes Ghana’s newly launched United Party can finally break the dominance of the NPP and NDC. In an interview on Good Afternoon Ghana monitored by Lovinghananews.com, the former NPP member said the United Party, led by Alan Kyerematen, offers a “centrist” approach that takes what is good from both major political traditions. “We are not left or right. We will take the good ideas from both and reject the bad,” he said. Adorye insisted the party is not for “disgruntled NPP members” but for all Ghanaians seeking honest leadership and national progress. “Alan is seen as a refined…
Former NPP member and now Director of Field Operations for the United Party, Hopeson Adorye, has revealed that plans for the newly launched political group began the very day Alan Kyerematen resigned from the NPP. Adorye said the decision to form the United Party was part of a long-term plan but was delayed for strategic reasons. “If we had registered the party before the 2024 election, the NPP government would have sabotaged it,” he stated. According to him, the Movement for Change served only as a temporary campaign vehicle for Alan’s independent bid during the last election. He explained that…
Kwesi Pratt lauds the decision by John Dramani Mahama to travel to China, pointing to a shift in Ghana’s international partnerships. “I’m so very happy … that the president of Ghana decided to go to China … to work on improving relations with China,” Pratt said. He argues that in the face of Ghana’s economic and developmental challenges, China offers an alternative: “China is offering us something … which is not an offer from the World Bank and the IMF and it’s also not an offer from the Western capitalist states.” A key focus for Pratt is the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI); “One…
Ghanaian journalist Kwesi Pratt has urged Ghana to take swift, deliberate steps to benefit from China’s growing trade and investment offers, particularly the zero-tariff regime extended to African countries. He emphasised that while the offer is promising, it demands urgency and strategic preparation on Ghana’s part. “One of the things … is the zero tariff offer by the Chinese … I think it’s a good initiative … the president says that we have to tie up the loose ends by the end of October. … we then will be able to take advantage of the export market in China and…
Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt has argued that Ghana’s infrastructure system still mirrors the colonial blueprint, built to extract and export rather than connect and develop. “If you look at national infrastructure, all of the railways in Ghana start from areas of concentrated wealth and end at the ports,” he observed in an interview monitored by Lovinghananews.com. “This is typical of the colonial economy. It hasn’t changed.” Pratt believes Ghana needs a new model, one that prioritizes national integration over export facilitation, and he sees China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a potential pathway. “The Belt and Road Initiative gives…
National Chairman of United Party, Abubakar Saddique Boniface has said he will be excited to witness the New Patriotic Party (NPP) challenge their decision to adopt the name United Party in court. Speaking in an interview on TV3, Hot Issues, monitored byLovinghananews.com, Boniface argued that the NPP cannot claim ownership of the name, United Party simply because of its past tradition associated with the previous United Party in the late 90s. Drawing parallel with the naming of children, Saddique Boniface asserted that while many people name their children Mohammed, one cannot assume rights and ownership of the name Mohammed simply…
