The Government of Ghana has reiterated its determination to halt the operations of MultiChoice Ghana if the company does not comply with directives to slash subscription prices. Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam George, warned that the MultiChoice Ghana has until September 6, 2025, to reach an agreement with government or face suspension. He explained that sanctions had already been applied for non-compliance. Presidential candidate and Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) leader, Kofi Akpaloo, has reportedly been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Citi News has learnt. Ghana’s headline inflation fell to 11.5% in August 2025, down from 12.1% in July, according to new data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
