A fire outbreak on Saturday, February 21, has completely destroyed the children’s ward at the Saboba Assemblies of God Hospital. According to the hospital’s Nurse Manager, Mr. George Olannba, the fire started at the entrance of the children’s ward before spreading rapidly through the facility. The Ghana National Fire Service responded promptly to the scene, but challenges with equipment hampered initial efforts to contain the blaze. The government has announced a ban on the land transit of cooking oil through Ghana’s borders, ordering that all consignments must henceforth be routed exclusively through the country’s seaports.
