Latest Data from the Bank of Ghana’s latest Credit Reporting Activity Report indicates that Credit enquiries in Ghana surged to 29.5 million in 2024, marking a 114.6% increase from 13.7 million in 2023. This continued rise underscores the growing role of credit reporting as a key tool in institutional credit management of financial institutions. Tullow Oil has reported a loss after tax of $61 million for the first half of 2025, a sharp reversal from the $196 million profit recorded in the same period last year. The downturn was attributed to lower oil prices, reduced production volumes, and higher maintenance costs. Revenue for the period dropped to $524 million, down from $759 million in the first half of 2024. Last week’s Treasury bill auction ended in an undersubscription, with total demand falling 22.12% short of target. The result breaks a streak of three consecutive oversubscriptions and follows a sharp drop in the interest rate offered on the 56-day Bank of Ghana (BoG) bill. The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the CAA Region II Senior Athletics Championship has announced a change in the event’s dates to 18 and 19 August 2025, instead of the originally scheduled 15 and 16 August.
