Ghana will reopen its embassy in Tehran on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, after a three-month closure triggered by escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced. The mission was shut down in June amid security concerns for staff and the Ghanaian community. On 19th August 2022, an agreement was executed between Ministry of Finance, MoF, representing the Republic of Ghana and the Afreximbank for a loan of $750 million. The Government of Ghana has reiterated its determination to halt the operations of MultiChoice Ghana if the company does not comply with directives to slash subscription prices.
