Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff, has assured that the government is keen on training key players of Ghana’s sports ecosystem as a way of boosting the sector ahead of major sporting events. Former Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has urged Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) across the country to take decisive action to demolish structures built on waterways in order to tackle Ghana’s recurring flooding problem. The Bantama Member of Parliament expressed concern that many of the flooding incidents recorded in Kumasi and other major cities are a direct result of buildings illegally constructed on watercourses — in some cases, with permits issued by the assemblies themselves. Speaking during a sitting of the Local Government and Rural Development Committee of Parliament on Monday, October 6, Asenso-Boakye, who also…

Taylor Swift has officially put to rest a fan theory suggesting she plans to quit music after marrying NFL star Travis Kelce, and she did so in classic Swift style, direct, witty, and unapologetic. During an interview on BBC Radio 2 with host Scott Mills, the pop icon was asked whether her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, would be her last as she prepares for marriage. Swift didn’t mince words in her response. “That’s a shockingly offensive thing to say,” she told Mills. “It’s not why people get married, so that they can quit their jobs.” Mills explained…

According to IMANI’s Criticality Analysis of Governance and Economic Issues, Ghana’s heavy reliance on poultry imports, now exceeding 80% of national consumption and costing over $300 million annually, has become a pressing economic concern. The government’s forthcoming Nkoko Nkitinkiti Programme, set to launch in October 2025, seeks to address this by distributing 3 million birds nationwide to support commercial, medium-scale, and local poultry farmers. While the initiative promises to boost domestic production, IMANI emphasizes that production alone cannot solve the problem. Without adequate processing and cold-chain infrastructure, the policy think tank warns, the country risks creating a surplus of unprocessed…
