Dear Mr President This is a time to unite our country; this is a time to heal our nation. Everything seems to be in disarray. We are witnessing the needless killings of both Muslims and Christians across the country. We are seeing growing disregard for Nigeria by global leaders, with unsettling conversations about the possibility of external invasion. We continue to endure persistent hardship that weighs heavily on our citizens. And the political tension consuming major opposition parties—PDP, Labour, and others—has only deepened the national unease. It is perceptible even to the blind that there is tension in the land.…
The Federal Government plans to earn nearly $1 billion annually by exporting electricity to 15 West African countries under the ECOWAS sub-region starting June 2026. This revenue projection assumes full utilisation of Nigeria’s 600-megawatt export capacity at current regional tariffs, following a successful grid synchronisation exercise conducted earlier this month. Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, revealed the development at a press briefing in Abuja, highlighting that Nigeria conducted a four-hour grid synchronisation test with 15 West African nations on November 8, 2025. This positions Nigeria as a central power hub in the West African Power Pool (WAPP). The synchronisation, held…
The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a scathing judgment detailing how Nnamdi Kanu’s broadcasts allegedly fuelled v+olence and d+struction across southern Nigeria. Justice James Omotosho said video recordings showed the IPOB leader urging followers to “amb¥sh,” “k+ll,” and “b¥rn down” security operatives and government facilities. In one broadcast, Kanu allegedly told a caller, “Use those g¥ns to k+ll one or two of the army officers. Take their g¥ns and begin to k+ll other people… Kill the Army whenever you see them.” The judge described the comments as “clear and direct.” He also cited Kanu’s 20 October 2020 EndSARS…
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to life imprisonment after an appeal for leniency urged the court to temper justice with mercy. The sentencing was delivered on Thursday following an hours-long judgment in which Kanu was convicted on all t+rrorism-related charges brought by the Department of State Services (DSS) on behalf of the Federal Government. Justice Omotosho ruled that Kanu would serve life imprisonment on counts one, two, four, five, and six — all of which ordinarily carry the d+ath penalty. He…
Illegal migrants who use human rights claims to avoid deportation could now wait up to 30 years before becoming eligible for permanent residency under sweeping reforms unveiled by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood. The new package proposes major changes to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), applied retrospectively to nearly two million migrants who have arrived since 2021. According to a Home Office consultation, anyone who originally entered the UK illegally—or as a visitor—would face an extended route to settlement. This includes small-boat arrivals, visa overstayers and failed asylum seekers who win appeals on “right to family life” grounds. Their qualifying period…
The Zamfara State Government has concluded plans to sponsor the wedding of 200 orphans, according to the Executive Secretary of the Zakkat and Endowment Board, Malam Habibu Balarabe. Speaking in Gusau, Balarabe said the ceremony will take place on Monday, 23 November 2025, at the Board’s premises. He explained that all selected beneficiaries were thoroughly screened before approval. Beyond the mass wedding, the Board will also provide grants to 200 women running small-scale businesses to help strengthen and expand their livelihoods. Balarabe noted that 100 women recently completed a three-week poultry farming training programme and will receive starter packs to…
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), led by Minister Nyesom Wike, announced it will begin enforcement actions from November 26 against defaulters of Ground Rent, Land Use Change/Conversion fees, and outstanding Right of Occupancy (R-of-O) and Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) payments. In a statement on Thursday, Minister Wike emphasized that the crackdown will also target property buyers who have failed to register their interests through the required Minister’s Consent or complete their Deeds of Assignment. He reminded the public that, following President Bola Tinubu’s intervention, a 14-day grace period to settle outstanding ground rent expired over five months ago on…
United States Congresswoman Sara Jacobs has criticized President Donald Trump’s threat of military action in Nigeria over alleged Christian genocide, describing it as “r£ckless.” Jacobs made the remarks on Thursday during a US Congress hearing on Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern. The Democrat, representing California’s 51st Congressional District, said attributing the v+olence in Nigeria solely to a religious crisis does not capture the full picture. “President Trump’s thr+at is r£ckless, and any unilateral military action in Nigeria is illegal. Congress has not authorised force in Nigeria to protect Christians,” she said. Jacobs, a member of the House Foreign…
FIFA recently unveiled a World Cup 2026 promotional design featuring several countries players—but surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo was not included in the graphic. His absence immediately drew massive attention from fans worldwide. To everyone’s surprise, the design was quickly deleted from all official FIFA social media platforms shortly after being posted. Luckily, our VAR team captured the image before it was removed. This has raised a big question: What has Cristiano Ronaldo done to deserve this kind of disrespect? Is it wrong for him to be one of the greatest players the world has ever seen? Many fans believe Ronaldo’s legacy…
The United Kingdom is set to tighten visa rules for countries that do not cooperate in repatriating their citizens, marking one of the most assertive immigration enforcement measures under the Labour government. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood indicated that the UK will implement what officials describe as “Trump-style visa restrictions,” aimed at pressuring foreign governments to speed up documentation and facilitate the return of deported individuals. The policy is expected to roll out gradually, initially targeting nations with consistently low levels of cooperation. UK authorities have identified Angola, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo as likely to be among the…
