Acting Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has charged newly called lawyers to approach their profession with humility, integrity, and a sense of service to humanity.
Justice Baffoe-Bonnie reminded the 824 new lawyers that their chosen path demands courage and responsibility.
“You have chosen a path that demands courage, but it is a path that leads to purpose and fulfilling greatness,” he saidSpeaking at the 2025 Call to the Bar ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday, October 10.
“Congratulations again, our newly qualified lawyers. May you serve with humility and serve with purpose, and above all, let your integrity shine.”
He further cautioned that while ongoing reforms in Ghana’s legal education system are necessary, they must go beyond simply increasing numbers. “We must, however, ensure that the reforms we seek do not merely expand the numbers but truly refine the very purpose of legal education in Ghana in the 21st Century,” he noted.
Justice Baffoe-Bonnie also encouraged the new lawyers to look beyond personal gains and dedicate their skills to uplifting the less privileged in society. “Serve the marginalised and vulnerable in society with humility and integrity,” he urged.
The ceremony opened a new chapter for the 824 lawyers, who now join the ranks of Ghana’s legal fraternity, ready to uphold justice and contribute to the nation’s evolving legal landscape.
