President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed that Cabinet is awaiting a detailed report from the Minister of Health on the status and progress of the Agenda 111 hospitals, which will guide the government on the next steps for their completion.

He made the remarks during a media encounter on Wednesday, September 10, at Jubilee House.

Speaking on the government’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s health infrastructure, the President highlighted that over GH¢2 billion will be invested in healthcare between now and 2028. He noted that the 2025 budget includes an initial GH¢200 million allocation aimed at accelerating the construction, expansion, and modernisation of hospitals, clinics, and health centres across the country.

“Whether in remote rural communities or high-density urban centres, our aim is the same — a health facility within reach of every Ghanaian,” President Mahama stressed.

The move underscores the Mahama administration’s pledge to improve healthcare delivery, ensuring that both urban and rural populations have access to quality medical services.

Cabinet’s upcoming review of the Agenda 111 hospitals is expected to shape a concrete roadmap for completing the ambitious national health infrastructure project.
