A delegation from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly has presented an eight-year development plan to the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for the development of the metropolis.

The delegation was led by the Mayor of Cape Coast, George Arthur and the Members of Parliament for Cape Coast North and South, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku and George Kwaku Ricketts Hagan.

The development plan highlights key projects, including the refurbishment and operationalisation of the John Evans Atta Mills Presidential Library, as well as the rehabilitation of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital.

The Vice President disclosed this in a post on her social media page, stating that discussions focused on how government support is critical in making Cape Coast vibrant and economically viable.

She also noted the importance of local fundraising initiatives to support development projects within the metropolis.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang further urged the Assembly to actively involve residents of Cape Coast in decision-making processes to promote community ownership of development initiatives.

She stressed the need for the Assembly to align its metropolitan development plans with the broader national development agenda.
