Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah
Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, has called on Ghanaians to embrace walking as a simple yet powerful tool for healthy living, social unity, and national development.
Speaking to the media after leading a health walk through the principal streets of Madina, Accra Debrah emphasized that walking should not be seen merely as physical exercise but as “a way of life that strengthens both body and spirit.”
He underscored the need for Ghanaians to adopt healthier lifestyles, noting that personal wellness translates into collective progress for the nation.
The health walk was organized in collaboration with Francis-Xavier Sosu, Member of Parliament for Madina, and Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams. Hundreds of residents, dignitaries, and representatives of civil society participated, turning the event into a lively display of community spirit and national solidarity.
The walk also marked the official introduction of the Madina Chamber of Commerce, a new initiative designed to serve as a central hub for local businesses. The chamber is expected to provide a structured platform for collaboration, policy advocacy, and sustainable growth, while promoting entrepreneurship, trade, and investment opportunities in the constituency.
Addressing participants at the launch, MP Francis-Xavier Sosu described the initiative as “a step towards empowering Madina’s business community to take its rightful place in the national economy.”
He added that the Chamber would not only create stronger linkages between local businesses but also position Madina as a key player in Ghana’s economic development.
Dignitaries from government institutions, the private sector, and community organizations joined the walk and pledged their support for the Chamber’s vision. Many participants expressed optimism that the initiative would help address unemployment, boost small and medium-scale enterprises, and attract investors to Madina.
The event, combining wellness and entrepreneurship, highlighted the growing recognition that a healthy population and a vibrant local economy are both essential ingredients for national progress
