The body of a boat paddler who went missing after his canoe capsized on the White Volta River at Daboya in the Savannah Region early Monday, October 27, has been recovered.
The North Gonja District Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Abdul Rashid Yamusah, confirmed to Channel One News that the lifeless body was found following a search operation by a NADMO rescue team.
The deceased, identified as Razack Simon, a local paddler in his early forties, was reportedly alone in the canoe when the incident occurred around 4:12 a.m.
According to Mr. Yamusah, Razack had just ferried a group of farmers from Daboya to the Tamale bank and was returning when the canoe overturned.
