The Presidency has announced that donations towards the Children Support Fund, set up to cater for the welfare of the children of victims of the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash, have so far amounted to GHC 3,576,600 and US$20,000.

The contributions were received between August 19 and 28, 2025, from a cross-section of corporate institutions and individuals responding to the national appeal launched to support affected families.

The Fund was established to ensure that the children left behind receive proper care, education, and welfare support in the wake of the tragic incident.

In a public update issued on Friday, August 29, the Presidency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, noting that a full list of donors will continue to be published weekly.

Citizens and institutions willing to contribute have also been encouraged to make donations through designated Stanbic Bank Ghana accounts, with both Ghana cedi and dollar options available.

Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, who signed the update, expressed appreciation to all who have contributed so far, describing the gesture as a testament to Ghana’s unity and compassion during moments of tragedy.

She assured the public that the funds will be managed prudently and directed solely towards safeguarding the welfare of the children affected by the disaster.
