The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced a new partnership with volunteer group Buzstopboys aimed at boosting road safety and environmental sustainability.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Authority says it will register all vehicles used in the group’s operations free of charge.
“We are committed to registering the cars and motorcycles of Buzstopboys that are used in their operations at no cost,” the DVLA stated. “This is part of our contribution to support their voluntary work and ensure that their operations remain safe and legal.”
The DVLA also emphasized that training would be provided for members of the group to improve safety.
“We are also committed to training members of this volunteering group in the use of their equipment in order to enhance road safety,” the Authority added.
Buzstopboys, known for its community clean-up exercises and campaigns against indiscriminate littering, welcomed the partnership.
According to the group, their mission is to create a cleaner and more environmentally friendly Ghana.
“Since our inception, we have engaged in clean-ups and public education against littering,” Buzstopboys said.
“This support from the DVLA will go a long way in strengthening our operations and protecting the environment.”
The DVLA stressed the wider importance of the collaboration, noting: “Partnerships of this nature are important in building a sustainable and clean environment that is responsive to the needs of citizens.”
