Police have arrested an alleged fake soldier, identified as Warrant Officer Enoch Appiah, for attempting to sell weapons to undercover officers in Kasoa.
According to police sources, officers received a tip-off that the suspect was searching for buyers for assault rifles in his possession.
He was later tracked to an uncompleted building at the Nurses Quarters area in Domeabra, where he was reportedly living with his three wives.
After carefully positioning themselves, the police arrested Appiah and recovered two pistols, a Beretta and a Taurus, as well as three rounds of AK-47 ammunition.
A fake military ID card bearing his name and several military uniforms were also found at the hideout.
Investigations are ongoing to determine how he obtained the weapons and uniforms, and whether he was working with others.
