Former Finance Minister Commissions 12-Unit Classroom Block for Alma Mater

Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, former Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Karaga, commissioned a newly constructed 12-unit classroom block for his alma mater, Tamale Senior High School, on Monday.
The project, initiated last year following an appeal by the headmaster, aims to enhance teaching and learning by alleviating congestion and providing a more conducive academic environment.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Amin Adam stated that the intervention was his way of giving back to the institution that shaped his formative years. He encouraged students to uphold the school’s reputation by taking their studies seriously and avoiding acts of indiscipline.
“Give to Tamasco what Tamasco has given to you. You can do so by upholding the good name of the school through academic excellence,” he said.
Dr. Amin Adam also cautioned students against drug and substance abuse, stressing that “nothing destroys people faster than drugs.” He urged them to stay focused and build a future that would make both their families and the school proud.
Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Abukari Yakubu, who received the keys to the new one-storey facility, commended the former Finance Minister for the timely gesture. He noted that the school has been grappling with infrastructural deficits due to rising enrollment, making the new block a major relief.
He further recounted how the project began, admitting that he initially doubted whether the pledge would be fulfilled, especially after the former minister’s party lost political power. He commended Dr. Amin Adam for his integrity and commitment to keeping his word.
Some students who spoke during the commissioning expressed gratitude to the MP, saying the project will greatly improve their learning conditions.
They also expressed hope that other alumni and benevolent individuals would emulate his example.

I think CAF needs to create a new rule: any African team that wins AFCON should qualify directly for the World Cup — Samuel
