A 36-year-old woman is speaking out after what she describes as a brutal encounter with debt collectors from Bills Micro Credit, formerly known as Quick Credit.
According to reports, four male staff members showed up at her home in a branded company vehicle, demanding payment for a GH¢300 loan she had defaulted on. But what started as a debt recovery visit quickly turned violent.
The woman claims the men seized her phone and physically attacked her, dragging her to the ground during the confrontation.
It took the intervention of nearby residents and passersby to stop the assault and prevent things from escalating further.
The incident has sparked outrage, with many questioning the tactics used by the microfinance company and calling for accountability.
As of now, the woman is recovering, and calls are growing for the company to be held responsible for the actions of its staff.
