The Ghana Hajj Board has commenced medical examinations for prospective pilgrims in Tamale in the Northern Region as part of preparations toward the 2026 Hajj season.
The exercise, which is a mandatory requirement for all intending pilgrims, is being conducted at the Ummah Medical Centre, a designated screening centre approved to undertake the medical assessments.
Officials indicate that more than 1,000 prospective pilgrims from the Northern Region are expected to undergo the screening process in the coming days.
The medical examination is aimed at assessing the health status of applicants to ensure they are fit to undertake the spiritual journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Prospective pilgrims are required to present a copy of their passport or Ghana Card as part of the documentation process. Each applicant is also expected to pay a subsidized medical examination fee of GH¢650.
The Ghana Hajj Board has encouraged all registered pilgrims to complete the medical screening promptly to avoid delays in subsequent travel arrangements for the 2026 pilgrimage.
