The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that Ghana is facilitating the implementation of 1,000 scholarships for students from ECOWAS member states to study in Ghana.
The initiative, he said, is part of Ghana’s longstanding commitment to Pan-Africanism, regional solidarity, and the promotion of educational diplomacy across West Africa.
“In line with Ghana’s longstanding commitment to Pan-Africanism and regional solidarity, the Ministry has actively pursued educational diplomacy,” Mr. Ablakwa said.
“I am pleased to announce that in collaboration with key stakeholders, the Ministry is facilitating the implementation of 1,000 scholarships for students from the ECOWAS member states to study here in Ghana, as was announced on 22nd April 2025 during the launch of the 50th anniversary of ECOWAS by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.”
The move is expected to strengthen regional integration and foster closer ties among West African countries through education and youth empowerment.
