His club Toulouse, has reportedly confirmed that he will be sidelined, ruling him out for the rest of the season and making him unavailable for the tournament.
Francis had been part of Ghana’s squad during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers but will not feature in the final team.
He had recently stated that his focus was on staying fit and playing regularly to secure his spot for the competition, but the injury has halted those plans.
At just 24 years old, this would have been Francis first World Cup appearance.
