There was a fire outbreak in a two-storey apartment building near Divine International School at Lakeside Estate in Accra on Wednesday afternoon.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported that the blaze started around 3:50 p.m., quickly engulfing the upper floor of the six-bedroom house.
Crews from the Adenta Fire Station rushed to the scene, battling thick smoke and spreading flames.
Due to the intensity of the fire, reinforcement was immediately dispatched from the Madina Fire Station. Together, the teams worked to contain the blaze, ensuring it did not spread to the ground floor or nearby homes.
By 5:25 p.m., the fire had been fully extinguished, though one bedroom was left badly damaged. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
Preliminary investigations by the GNFS suggest that the fire may have been triggered by a faulty electrical socket.
