The government has taken another decisive step to strengthen national security with the official handover of 40 armoured vehicles to the Ghana Police Service.
According to the announcement, the new fleet forms part of a broader commitment to equip security agencies with the tools they need to combat crime and safeguard citizens across the country.
The government further revealed that this initial delivery will soon be reinforced with:
2 tow trucks
10 covert operational vehicles
Pickup trucks for every police district office to boost patrol and rapid response operations
The statement emphasized that police officers deserve the highest level of protection as they carry out their duties, noting that the nation has lost too many brave officers due to inadequate equipment in the past.
“I remain committed to upgrading and modernising our security agencies, and we are fulfilling that promise,” the leader said, stressing that peace is not accidental, but the result of sustained investment, strong institutions, professionalism, and vigilance.
He added that the government will not compromise on security, assuring that those who break the law will not go scot-free.
This latest intervention is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency, visibility, and the confidence of officers in the line of duty.
