A 32-year-old domestic abuse survivor, Harriet Amuzu, is finally experiencing some peace after authorities took action against her alleged abuser, John Odartey Lamptey, a landlord at Ofankor in the Ga East Municipality.
Harriet’s story gained public attention when a tenant shared a disturbing video showing her being assaulted and dragged outside while naked.
The footage led to public outrage and eventually the arrest of the suspect.
In an interview after the arrest, Harriet explained that she had previously left the relationship, but returned when she was told that one of her children was seriously ill.
Upon her return, she claimed she was assaulted again, with the situation escalating into severe physical and sexual abuse.
Her partner allegedly inserted pepper into her private part and beàt her mercilessly for resisting his touch.
