Accra Hearts of Oak look to preserve their 10-game unbeaten run against Berekum Chelsea when they travel to the Golden City Park on Sunday, October 19.
The Phobians have dominated this clash for the past five years. With six wins and four draws in 10 matches since 2020, Hearts of Oak are confident of walking out of Berekum with at least a point.
Berekum Chelsea’s last victory over Hearts of Oak came on the opening day in 2019, thanks to a 33rd-minute strike from Jonah Attuquaye.
This season, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani’s side has scored only two goals in five games, which were all match-winners. Meaning if Berekum Chelsea are to replicate the two goals they scored in their win against Basake Holy Stars at home, Hearts of Oak might be found wanting.
However, Berekum Chelsea have not scored in their last five home games against Hearts of Oak. A record, Berekum Chelsea boss Samuel Boadu will be eyeing to overturn when they host his former team.
With three goals scored in four matches, Boadu’s side boasts of the better attacking output this season. But if history is anything to go by, Dramani’s men look ripe for another clean sheet here, especially with Benjamin Asare’s return.
The Ghana number one kept four consecutive clean sheets before leaving for Black Stars duty.
Berekum Chelsea are motivated to avoid an early scramble in the drop zone, and so are the Phobians, who are targeting another league title since Boadu won them the title four years ago.
