He’s his own man – Cynthia Morrison on Kennedy Agyapong

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart turned independent candidate, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, has expressed deep admiration for Kennedy Agyapong, describing him as a man of his own mind and a brother with a soft heart, despite his tough public image.

Morrison said her relationship with Agyapong went beyond politics, explaining that their long-standing personal connection had given her insight into his character.

“He’s his own man, but naturally, the people who like me know that he is my brother. Of course, he’s my brother. He’s our Central Region brother,” she said on Starr FM in an interview monitored by Lovinghananews.com.

Morrison recounted moments that revealed Agyapong’s generosity, even if she herself was not always a beneficiary. “Only he won’t give me money. He’ll give to people. So, I’ll tell you, when you got your money, you give to people,” she said, laughing.

She recalled a time when Agyapong ordered several pickups in the United States, insisting that one was meant for a friend named Kabul.

“I was with him in his house with my husband when he started the order. He said the first red pickup is for Kabul. And I said, hey, pickup? But why is my uncle here?

“He calls my husband my uncle. My uncle is buying two pickups for you — you don’t need mine,” she recounted with amusement.

According to the former Gender Minister, Agyapong often made jokes about giving money to others in her presence.

“Even when he’s giving people money in Parliament, he’ll say, ‘Oh, my uncle is there,’ jokingly,” she said, stressing that her affection for him was not tied to any personal benefit. “It’s not that he has done something for me that I am paying him back. Or that my hands are tied. No.”
