Murdered Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah.

The Presiding judge in the murder trial of Immigration officer has admonished the aggrieved family members of the deceased to allow the law to take its course and not take matters into their own hands.

Lawyer for the second accused, Gordon Aboagye prayed the court to caution the deceased officer’s family, citing a near assault on him after proceedings at the last adjourned date.

“Concerning what took place, we want the court to talk to the family of the deceased. It’s not easy to lose a loved one.”

He further urged the court to order prosecution to grant him access to the accused persons since he did not know where they are being kept.

The magistrate, Abena Asor Owusu Omenyo cautioned the family to allow the law to take its course.

“It’s not easy at all. Nobody should downplay the pain you’re going through. We don’t want you to put yourselves in trouble otherwise all your efforts will be useless. The wheels of justice grind slowly. The attacks will not help. Let’s focus on justice.

“If you commit a crime around the court premises or in the courtroom, Nsawam will be waiting for you,” Abena Asor Owusu Omenyo indicated to the family.

Background

Steffen King Amoah, 38, was reported missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. His charred body was later discovered on July 9 at Abuom Junction, near Kwabenya, sparking a manhunt and an intensive police investigation.

Two suspects, Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah have been remanded into custody and are on trial at the Adabraka District Court.
