Impossible to accept — NPP rejects poll predicting NDC victory in Akwatia

The opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Director of Research and Elections, Evans Nimako, is not happy with Global Info Analytics for projecting a win for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Bernard Bediako Baidoo

Mr. Nimako argued that the poll’s findings contradict its own data, rendering its conclusions unreliable.

“The majority of respondents in that report say the country is headed in the wrong direction,” he told lovinghananews.com.

“And yet the same report concludes that the NPP candidate will lose. That raises serious questions.”

Mr. Nimako further dismissed suggestions that he was “rubbishing” the poll, insisting he was simply calling for objectivity.

“I am asking the questions,” he said. “If you tell me I’m going to vote and give my ballot to an NDC candidate, that’s impossible. There must be a clear basis for such conclusions.”

He also took a swipe at Mussa Dankwa, the lead pollster behind the survey, suggesting this was not the first time his projections had been questionable.

“This is not the first time Mussa Dankwa has conducted such polls,” Mr. Nimako stated.

On reports that National Security operatives had been spotted monitoring parts of Akwatia, Mr. Nimako urged restraint and called for responsible handling of security-related concerns.

“We shouldn’t allow individuals to create unnecessary tension,” he cautioned. “If National Security identifies any such elements, it is for them to manage the situation — not to heighten anxiety among voters.”
