Fire has destroyed goods worth about GHS 1.5 million at a mobile phone accessories shop in the Central Business District of Kasoa, in the Central Region.

The blaze, which broke out around midnight on Friday, March 27, was said to have swept through parts of a one-storey building housing Man-Man Phones Accessories.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service at the Kasoa station responded swiftly but were only able to secure the ground floor, while items on the top floor were completely destroyed.

Owner of the shop, Boniface Denyo, said he had restocked the business just days before the incident.

“I restocked the shop a few days ago only to lose everything,” he told Citi News, adding that the destroyed items included batteries, charging systems, and technical equipment.

He estimated the value of the goods lost in the fire at GHS 1.5 million, along with cash amounting to GHS 26,400.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
