How can a Federation that calls itself progressive be so clu£less, so careless, and so consistently incompetent that they failed to organize even ONE friendly match for the November–December women’s international break?
Other African nations Morocco, Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, even countries who have nowhere near our pedigree are already playing friendly games, preparing seriously for WAFCON in March.
But the people running the Nigerian Football Federation? They’re just sitting comfortably in Abuja offices, doing absolutely nothing except l00ting funds meant for sports development.
Political appointees with zero vision, zero strategy, and zero respect for the women who carry our national flag with pride.
And the saddest part? This is the same tired pattern every year. In 2025, the NFF is still repeating the shameful behavior they’ve displayed for over a decade.
They wasted more than five consecutive international women’s breaks before the last WAFCON, no matches, no preparation, no planning at all.
It was only at the very last minute they rushed to arrange friendlies against Portugal and Ghana, and even that happened because of public pressure and criticism.
Tell me, how can any reasonable, functional, or serious football federation treat its national teams like this?
How do you neglect champions, role models, and global ambassadors of the country like they don’t matter?
Worse still, we all know the script: They will budget money for these November–December friendlies, pretend they had plans, then pocket the funds quietly, just as they have done year after year. and nobody holds them accountable. It’s a vicious cycle of incompetence and corruption.
Why should politicians with no sports expertise be allowed to run the NSC and the NFF?
How can the future of Nigerian football be placed in the hands of people whose only skill is political networking and embezzling funds?
As long as these individuals remain in charge, Nigerian sports cannot and will not progress.
At this point, the honorable thing, if they even understand the meaning of the word, is for them to resign in shame.
They clearly cannot do the job. They lack the knowledge, the passion, and the integrity needed to run a federation, let alone manage the most successful women’s team on the continent.
This situation is not just shameful, it is a national embarrassment, and it must be called out.
