A group of cocoa farmers is crying foul over what they describe as a broken promise by former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to the farmers, Mahama assured them during his campaign that the cocoa price would be increased to GHS 6,000 per bag if he were to return to power.

However, now that the price is far below that mark, they feel deceived and taken advantage of.
“He made a promise to win our votes, and now he’s done the exact opposite,” one farmer said bitterly. “He should pay us what he promised.”

The farmers are now speaking out, warning politicians against making pledges they don’t intend to keep. For them, it’s not just politics, it’s about survival.
