Media General, operators of TV3, has honoured 2025 BBC News Komla Dumor Award winner, Godwin Asediba, with a cash prize of $10,000 in recognition of his dedication and hard work.
At a brief presentation ceremony held at TV3’s premises in Accra on Thursday, August 21, 2025, the award-winning journalist was presented with a symbolic cheque by Media General executives.
Mr. Asediba, who was recently announced as the prestigious recipient of the BBC’s Komla Dumor Award, expressed deep gratitude to the Media General Group for their support throughout his career. He noted that the gesture not only motivates him but also symbolizes the company’s commitment to promoting excellence in journalism.
Speaking at the ceremony, Media General’s management commended Asediba for raising the flag of Ghana high on the international stage, describing him as a beacon of integrity, professionalism, and resilience.
The Komla Dumor Award, instituted by the BBC in memory of the late Ghanaian broadcaster Komla Afeke Dumor, celebrates outstanding African journalists who demonstrate exceptional talent, commitment, and impact in telling African stories.
