Men Who Earn GH₵4,000 or Less Should Avoid Marriage – Young Ghanaian man advises men.

A young Ghanaian has sparked debate after claiming that men earning GH₵4,000 ($360) or less per month should not consider marriage due to the financial responsibilities involved.

In a video circulating online, the man broke down the costs of living for a single man versus a married man earning the same amount.
He explained that a single man paying for essentials like rent, utilities, and transportation would spend around GH₵3,000 monthly, leaving just GH₵1,000 to save, about GH₵12,000 a year.

He went on to say that marriage significantly increases expenses.
Renting a larger home for comfort and visitors could cost GH₵1,500 monthly, and additional costs like dowry, wedding ceremonies, and new appliances could total GH₵120,000, equivalent to 10 years of savings for someone on that salary.
He also noted that having children would further increase expenses.

His message was clear: men planning to marry should ensure their earnings are sufficient to handle both day-to-day and long-term financial responsibilities.
