He stressed the need for increased investment in education and entrepreneurship programmes that equip young people with practical skills and empower them to build sustainable livelihoods.
The Presiding Bishop made the remarks at the launch of the 80th Anniversary of the Methodist Youth Fellowship at the Wesley Towers in Accra on Saturday, February 21, 2025.
Speaking in an interview with Citi News, he noted that his pastoral visits across Ghana have exposed him to the resilience and determination of many young people who are striving to survive and contribute meaningfully to national development despite economic challenges.
“As I go round this country on pastoral visits as Presiding Bishop, I see a large body of incredibly hardworking young people in our cities, towns, and villages. Some of them are farmers, some of them run small businesses trying to make a living for themselves,” he said.
While encouraging the youth to remain industrious and committed to building their future, he urged policymakers, politicians, and public office holders to pay closer attention to the realities facing young people.
