MTN Ghana has assured exhibitors and patrons of a seamless digital payment experience at the 2025 This Is Ghana Exhibition, scheduled for September 6-7 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday, August 29, Tony Boateng, Fintech Distribution Manager at MTN Mobile Money (MoMo), emphasized that robust systems had been put in place to guarantee uninterrupted cashless transactions.

“There is strong network connectivity, and we can assure patrons that our system will not go down. We planned ahead to cater to these activities. For vendors, we have teams ready to onboard them onto the merchant platform,” Mr. Boateng said.

He noted that MTN’s partnership with Citi FM and Channel One TV aligns with the telecom giant’s broader mission of empowering indigenous businesses and advancing Africa’s digital transformation agenda.

“MTN, as an African brand, believes in the African dream. Platforms like this showcase local businesses and creativity, while also giving us an opportunity to deliver our digital services and support SMEs,” he added.

The event will also allow merchants to set up fully functional MoMo business accounts, ensuring quick and convenient payments. “At events like this, people often spend more than they planned. MoMo makes it easier by giving them the convenience to pay instantly without worrying about cash,” Mr. Boateng explained.

The 2025 This Is Ghana Exhibition will celebrate indigenous entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation. It is powered by Channel One TV and Citi FM, with sponsorship from MTN, Ecobank, Syde Hassle from EK Brand Consult, Ghana Enterprises Agency, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Exim Bank, and Evivi Foods. Supporting partners include Twellium Industrial Company Limited and Built Financial Technologies.
