An accident on the Jirapa–Wa road has claimed the lives of three people, including a police officer.
According to eyewitness accounts shared on Facebook by Dickson Desire, the crash occurred when a passenger vehicle traveling from Jirapa to Techiman suffered a tyre burst.
The driver reportedly lost control, causing the urvan bus to veer off course and crash violently.
The fatalities included a police officer who was said to be on transfer to Techiman at the time of the incident.
Several other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Nadowli health facility for emergency treatment.
In view of this, many residents are calling for stronger measures to ensure vehicular safety and regular maintenance.
Some commuters have also voiced frustration over the state of the Jirapa–Wa road, citing its poor condition as a contributing factor to frequent crashes.
